Symptoms can be so difficult to pinpoint what is causing them. Often, it is a frustrating process as so many things are linked. Bloating as an example can be triggered by a number of different causes (e.g. stress, inflammation, food sensitivities and so on). The key question however is - "how is my microbiome?".
Wondering how it's all connected? Let's dive in.
Bloating has a lot to do with our microbiome. Why?
- When it is imbalances, we're more susceptible to being impacted by stress, food sensitivities, inflammation.
- Overgrowth of "harmful" bacteria increases production of gas! Therefore, bloating.
- Optimal gut health means you have a strong diversity of gut bacteria. Without this, imbalances are caused and overgrowth as aforementioned occurs.
- Certain bacterias slow gut motility (i.e. slow your digestive capabilities).
So, the moral of the story is - support your microbiome to reduce incidence of bloating.
